The Ian Baker-Finch Bintan Lagoon Woodlands Course is superbly laid out through pristine rainforest, with the front nine holes winding outward from the resort and the back nine returning toward the clubhouse.
Set across dramatically changing terrain, the course’s defining characteristic is the natural undulation of the landscape. The design philosophy was to work closely with the existing site, preserving dense jungle along both sides of the fairways and embracing significant elevation changes throughout the layout. As a result, the Woodlands Course is far from a typical resort course and presents a demanding test of golf.
Players face several tight tee shots, some of which are blind, along with challenging uphill approach shots. Deep bunkers protect many of the often elevated greens, while water hazards come into play on five or six holes, placing a strong emphasis on thoughtful course management and shot selection.
Immaculately maintained and set within a lush, undulating jungle environment, the Ian Baker-Finch Bintan Lagoon Woodlands Course offers a collection of memorable holes and a rewarding golfing experience on Bintan Island.
