Thai Country Club is one of Bangkok’s most prestigious private members’ golf clubs and is widely regarded as setting the benchmark for service excellence in Thailand. Consistently ranked among the finest courses in Asia, it delivers a truly world-class golfing experience.
Designed to USPGA standards by Denis Griffiths, the course opened in December 1996. Its flexible design allows for enjoyable everyday member play while also being capable of hosting the most demanding international and PGA-level tournaments. Measuring 7,157 yards, Thai Country Club has an impressive tournament pedigree. It hosted the 1997 Asian Honda Classic, where Tiger Woods claimed a commanding 10-stroke victory with a winning total of 20 under par. In 1998, the Johnnie Walker Super Tour visited the club, with Vijay Singh securing victory after a brilliant round of 66, finishing two shots ahead of Ernie Els and Jesper Parnevik. More recently, the club hosted the Volvo Masters in both 2007 and 2008.
Immaculately maintained year-round, the course offers outstanding variety from hole to hole, featuring abundant water hazards and beautifully sculpted sand bunkers. Despite being built on originally flat land, the layout now showcases gently rolling mounds, contoured fairways, and frequently elevated greens. Strategic course management is essential, as wayward tee shots, while often recoverable, are likely to find clinging semi-rough that complicates approach play.
The fairway and greenside bunkering is exceptional—both visually striking and strategically demanding—while the undulating greens allow for challenging pin placements and provide a constant test of putting skill. Among the many standout holes, the par-3 6th is particularly formidable, playing 218 yards from the back tees with water guarding the right side and bunkers protecting both the front and rear of the green. Competition statistics rank it as the toughest hole on the course, with a professional stroke average of 3.38. The par-5 14th is another highlight, admired for both its beauty and challenge.
Complementing the exceptional golf is a level of service befitting the club’s elite status. Thai Country Club’s caddies are among the best trained in Thailand, and the award-winning clubhouse—dramatically positioned between the 1st tee and 18th green and surrounded by water—is frequently voted the best in Asia. Inside, golfers are welcomed by a friendly and highly professional staff dedicated to delivering a memorable experience.
Facilities are second to none, with The Gallery restaurant offering rotating menus featuring Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Western cuisine, as well as daily buffets. The golfer’s lounge provides a relaxed setting to reflect on the round while enjoying sweeping views of the course. With its championship layout, flawless conditioning, and unparalleled hospitality, Thai Country Club represents the complete golfing experience in Thailand.
